welcome

Happy New Year to all the families & friends of the JCDG!

What about the kids?
Sunday January 9th at 9:45am
Frances Xavier Warde Cafeteria (120 S. Desplaines Ave)

It's the question that most of us have as we plan an interfaith wedding and life together. On Jan 9 you can listen to kids and young adults who are the ultimate answer to that big question, and many others!

Please join us for an interesting panel discussion on Sunday January 9th at 9:45am in the Frances Xavier Warde Cafeteria (120 S. Desplaines Ave). You’ll have an opportunity to hear from Family School Alumni – students who have graduated and are now in college or high school, about their experiences growing up in an interfaith family, and particularly their experiences in Family School. This is a great forum to ask the questions that have been on your mind!

The Family School

*Dialogue Group Families with children entering Kindergarten through 8th grade...

The Family School (www.the-family-school.org) is now enrolling students for the 2010-2011 school year. This is a parent-taught Sunday school program that meets approximately twice monthly on the campus of Old St. Patrick’s Church in downtown Chicago. While children are in class, parents not teaching that day participate in an adult education program. For more information, or to enroll your children, contact:

Family School Information
The Family School is a community of Jewish and Catholic couples providing a religious school to convey to our children the stories, traditions, rituals and values of both Judaism and Catholic Christianity. Together, we explore with our children the common moral code and shared heritage of our two faiths. The Family School was featured in a recent Chicago Tribune article that can be found here: Chicago Tribune

Kindergartners must be five years old before December 31 of the current school year to be admitted. We teach classes beginning at the Kindergarten level through 8th grade. There are openings for children in all grade levels. Please contact Angela Fishman, email apollo6464@comcast.net to learn more about the Family School.
